Baltimore, Maryland, United States
Movement Hampden takes up part of the Union Collective, a converted warehouse on West 41st Street that is now a retail and community space in Baltimore's Hampden neighbourhood. It opened as Earth Treks Hampden in June 2018, the chain's first gym in Baltimore City and its first given over entirely to bouldering, and now trades under the Movement name.
There are no ropes here. The gym has about 9,000 sq ft of bouldering on walls up to 15 ft high, with around 147 problems for every level and a bouldering cave. For training there is a hydraulic system board, campus boards and hangboards. The setting team publishes its schedule every two weeks and posts new climbs and their grades on the Kaya app.
A yoga studio runs flow, power flow, slow flow, restore and yin classes through the week, and the fitness floor has cardio machines, free weights and an eight-way cable machine added in 2026, with strength and circuit classes. Locker rooms have showers, and there is a gear shop on site.
Newcomers can start with an hour-long Introduction to Bouldering class, free for members, then move on to Intro to Technique. Private coaching, an adult Peak Performance Team, after-school classes, school-break camps and youth teams are also offered. Each month brings a women's meet-up, Queer Climbing Night with Baltimore Queer Climbers, a supervised slackline night and a College Night, alongside Brown Girls Climb meet-ups. Membership includes the yoga and fitness classes and entry to all Movement gyms nationwide.

“So many great boulder problems, variety, and new sets all the time. Easily my favorite place to climb. Friendly staff too.”
“In terms of climbing, I think there's room for more strategy/ technique climbs. … I've noted that the routes here feel primarily strength- focused.”
