Denver, Colorado, United States
Movement RiNo is a bouldering-only gym in Denver's Five Points neighbourhood, in a former tin factory that was renovated in 2018. Movement shares the building with Improper City, an independent café, food-truck park and beer garden, so a session can end with a coffee or a pint next door.
The gym has about 180 boulder problems on 15,200 square feet of climbing, with walls up to 15 feet high, and Movement puts the whole gym at 40,000 square feet. In 2018 Climbing Business Journal described the Entre-Prises layout: free-standing boulders you can top out, a long traverse wall, a cave with a sloping floor, two valleys of boulders, a competition-style wall and a training wall. New problems are logged in the KAYA app, and the setting schedule is posted every two weeks.
The training area has hydraulic system boards and campus boards. There is also a strength and cardio area with barbells, a yoga studio and locker rooms with showers and towel service, and membership includes unlimited yoga and fitness classes, from vinyasa and yin yoga to strength and conditioning.
Beginners can start with a one-hour Introduction to Bouldering or a four-class beginner package, then move on to technique classes, master classes and the Peak Performance adult team. Children aged 6 to 12 have an after-school programme and school-break camps, and the gym hosts birthday parties and team-building events. Weekly meet-ups include Boulders and Brews for new members, a sober climbing group and a run club, with monthly nights for Hispanic and Latine and for queer climbers, plus meet-ups for climbers of colour and for women and non-binary climbers.

“Movement RiNo is a great bouldering gym with a huge variety of problems across different grades and wall styles. … The biggest downside is parking—street parking can be tough to find…”
