The Gravity Vault's Philadelphia-area gym sits on King of Prussia Road in Radnor. It held its grand opening in March 2017 as the chain's third franchise-run gym and has around 16,000 square feet of climbing.
Ropes dominate: there are more than 100 rope stations, 78 of them top ropes, plus a lead cave and other lead-only areas, two cracks, a chimney, a rappel tower and auto belays. The bouldering area includes a MoonBoard, and off the walls there's a fitness room with cardio machines and weights, locker rooms with showers, a party room and a shop.
Newcomers can book a one-hour staff-belayed session for up to four climbers aged five and over, drop in for two instructor-belayed climbs, or come as a group of five or more for a 90-minute introduction. Climbers aged 14 and over who already belay with a Petzl GriGri can take a free belay test; everyone else can join the top-rope belay class, cheapest on Monday and Friday evenings. Lead climbers must be 16 or over and pass a lead test, or take the lead class.
Kids' classes for ages 5 to 13, break and summer camps (Camp Rocks includes two off-site trips), youth teams, scout badges and birthday parties keep younger climbers busy. Every week there's yoga on top of the boulder wall, a women and non-binary meet-up and a free climbing session for people living with Parkinson's, and each month brings an LGBTQIA+ meet-up and an adaptive climbing clinic run by the Pennsylvania Center for Adapted Sports. Discount days run on Mondays, Wednesdays and Friday evenings.

“…They definitely have more top rope climbs than bouldering, but their bouldering wall still has a decent amount of routes to try out that change regularly.”
“Always have a great time here, whether for parties or staff belay sessions. Super friendly, well lit, and welcoming. The staff are always really helpful and rental options are great. …”
“…Everyone at the gym, from the staff to other climbers, are more than willing to give tips, cheer you on, or just chat. … They also have auto belay climbs for people coming solo.”
