Stoneham, Massachusetts, United States
Central Rock Gym Stoneham is one of the bigger gyms in the Central Rock Gym chain, which opened its first gym in Worcester in 2009 and now has more than 29 locations. It has about 16,000 sq ft of climbing terrain: roughly 100 top-rope and lead stations on walls up to 45 ft high, with a big slab and plenty of overhanging lead lines, auto belays for climbing without a partner, and an upstairs bouldering area with 75 or more problems, a Tension Board and a spray wall. The bouldering walls are reset on a three-week rotation.
Membership is month to month and covers every Central Rock Gym, with rental gear and many classes included. In October 2026 the gym began refreshing its fitness room, yoga room, bouldering-area flooring and work areas.

“It’s was alright, route setting was a little sloppy compared to non-commercialized gyms. Bouldering grades felt inconsistent and lacked good flow once you got to around the v6 - v7 range…”
“Great place, great people. Never was I climber my self but my two kids love it. They have been extremely nice and helpful. Keeping us safe and having fun all times.”
“…The staff was incredibly friendly, helpful, and made us feel comfortable right away, even as beginners. The facility is well-maintained, with a great variety of climbing walls for all skill levels.”
