Climbing at Life Time Parker-Aurora

Life Time Parker-Aurora is a 129,000 sq ft athletic club where E-470 meets South Parker Road, opened in January 2008. Its rock wall is a sculpted, rock-textured wall about 30 feet high, with an arch you can walk beneath and top ropes on its faces. Life Time offers bouldering on the wall and roped climbing on auto-belays or partner ropes, depending on the club's set-up.

When and how to climb

The wall is staffed only in its Rock Wall hours: Monday to Thursday afternoons and Saturday mornings. It is open to all members, and non-members can buy a $50 day pass that covers the whole club for the day; memberships start at $219 a month and run month to month. Harnesses and ropes are provided, and climbing shoes are optional, as trainers are fine.

Kids and families

Children aged five and over on a junior membership can climb in open hours with a parent on site, once a parent or guardian has signed Life Time's climbing waiver. The club runs weekly instructor-led Rock Climbing and progressive beginner classes for ages 5 to 11 and a Traverse Wall class for ages 3 to 11, plus climbing birthday parties and Parents' Night Out evenings.

Beyond the wall

Membership also covers the workout floor, studio classes including yoga and dance, indoor and outdoor pools with water slides, basketball, squash, racquetball and pickleball courts, saunas, steam rooms, a cold plunge, the LifeCafe and a work lounge.
