Clip 'n Climb at Westfield Coomera

iPlay Adventure Coomera is a family entertainment centre on level 2 of Westfield Coomera, in the northern suburbs of the Gold Coast. It's run by iPlay, which has entertainment venues across Australia. Its climbing is a Clip 'n Climb zone of 23 themed walls, each climbed on a self-lowering auto-belay, so there's no ropework to learn: after a safety briefing, staff clip you in and you climb.

The walls are colourful challenge climbs for all abilities, from easy walls for small children to harder ones and a set of green poles of rising height to step up. Coomera also has two extras the chain's other Clip 'n Climb site lacks: the Vertical Drop Slide, a free fall down a giant slide, and the Leap of Faith, a jump from a platform to a trapeze bar.

Visiting

  • Sessions last 60 minutes, including the safety briefing. Book online, or walk in if there's space.
  • Climbers must be at least five and weigh between 10 and 136 kg, and under-12s need an adult supervising them throughout. Wear enclosed flat shoes.
  • Everyone signs a safety waiver, signed by a parent or guardian for under-18s.
  • The centre also has a two-level high ropes course, four mini bowling lanes, an arcade, and a café and licensed bar. The Red Rooftop Car Park, off Railway Road, is closest.

Climbing parties and school, youth and corporate groups can be booked, usually with five days' notice.
