Bouldering on the northern Gold Coast

Cutloose Indoor Climbing is an independent bouldering gym in a unit on City Centre Drive in Upper Coomera, and was the northern Gold Coast's first indoor bouldering gym when it opened in 2024. Its walls, built by ICP, mix grey and plywood panels with big green volumes, overhangs and a slab, and the whole gym is air-conditioned. The setters put up new problems every week, and reviewers praise the setting for its quality and high difficulty ceiling while noting that newer climbers are catered for too.

Training room

A separate air-conditioned training room at the back holds a Kilter Board and a MoonBoard alongside other training equipment; the home page lists it as a members' perk. The gym runs comps on the boards too, starting with a MoonBoard comp in August 2026.

Visiting

  • No bookings: turn up, sign the waiver at the desk and listen to the safety brief before your first climb.
  • First week free: first-timers get a week of free climbing after their first paid visit.
  • Dogs welcome: you can bring your dog.
  • Companion cards are accepted: carers climb free with a paying companion.

Classes and comps

Weekly youth classes run on Monday afternoons and evenings in school term, in groups of up to ten. Members get social comps. School, scout, church and work groups can book visits.

- Youth: $31 a week with no contract ($134.33 a month), $27 on 6 months ($117 a month), $23 on 12 months ($99.67 a month)

- Members get members-only social comps, 10% off the pro shop, a free visit for a new climber once a month and up to 4 weeks of free pauses a year
