9 Degrees Enoggera is a bouldering-only gym at 72 Pickering St in Brisbane's north-western suburbs, a short walk from Enoggera train station. It opened in 2019 as the first Brisbane branch of 9 Degrees, which runs seven bouldering gyms across Sydney and Brisbane, including a second Brisbane gym at Morningside.
Problems are graded on a nine-level colour scale, from ladder-easy climbs up to V12 and harder, and the setters put up new climbs every Tuesday and Thursday. The walls top out at 4.5 metres above deep crash mats, with down-climb holds at the top of each problem, and the gym is fully air-conditioned.
Board climbers get a 12 x 12 ft Decoy Board fixed at 30 degrees, a 2016 MoonBoard at 40 degrees and a spray wall, and there's a functional training area with weights for cross-training.
Coaching for Brisbane climbers comes from Motion Climbing, the gym's coaching partner, with small-group sessions and one-to-one coaching that alternate between Enoggera and Morningside. The highlight of the year is Grip & Rip, 9 Degrees Brisbane's biggest comp, whose semi-finals and finals are held here.

“I like the gym but I took 2 stars off because the website fails to provide basic, essential information about how pricing works after the initial 2 week offer.”
“The grades are easy to understand and beginners are more than welcome! … 2 walls are reset every week, and they organise several events throughout the year.”
