The Ontario Climbing Federation (OCF) runs the province's competitions, from youth qualifiers to the provincial championships, at gyms across southern and eastern Ontario. These are the dates on its calendar in October 2026: check the OCF events page before you go, and note that the provincials are only for climbers who have qualified.
The season opened with bouldering for under-17s to seniors at Up The Bloc in Mississauga on 10 and 11 October 2026.
National championships
Climbing Escalade Canada's calendar lists the 2027 Senior Boulder Nationals on 11 and 12 February and the Senior Lead Nationals on 14 and 15 February, but in October 2026 the venues were still to be confirmed. An earlier version of the calendar had placed both in Ottawa, so watch for the announcement. The Speed Nationals are in Montréal on 30 and 31 January 2027, and the Youth Lead Nationals at the Richmond Olympic Oval in BC on 24 and 25 May. Sport climbing also makes its Canada Games debut in Quebec City, with bouldering on 9 and 10 March and lead on 12 and 13 March 2027.
Youth teams
Ontario climbers were on Team Canada at the 2026 World Youth Championships in Arco, Italy, in July, where the province's best result was 25th place in the under-19 bouldering semi-final. Many gyms run youth competition teams, including True North, Hogtown Boulders, Up The Bloc, Toprock and Aspire in the GTA, Team Gravity in Hamilton, and Coyote Rock Gym and Altitude in Ottawa. For the gyms, see climbing in Toronto, climbing in Hamilton, climbing in Kitchener-Waterloo, climbing in London, climbing in Kingston and climbing in Ottawa.
The Alberta Climbing Association's season runs from October to March across gyms in Calgary and Edmonton, and Edmonton hosts the ice-climbing World Cup final and World Youth Championships in February 2027.
The FQME's Coupe Québec circuit visits gyms in Trois-Rivières, Quebec City and Greater Montréal this autumn, ahead of the Speed Nationals in Montréal in January and sport climbing's Canada Games debut in Quebec City in March 2027.
Sport Climbing BC's season runs from Pop & Lock in Kelowna in October to the open provincials at the Richmond Olympic Oval in December, with speed events at The Boulders near Victoria and bouldering across Metro Vancouver.
