Torrance, California, United States
Class 5 opened on Hawthorne Boulevard in Torrance in 2024 and takes its name from Touchstone Climbing's second gym, which was in San Rafael. It has about 26,000 sq ft of climbing in a bright, naturally lit building: roughly 17,000 sq ft of roped walls, including top-rope cracks and 40 ft lead walls, and more than 9,000 sq ft of bouldering on slabs, steep overhangs, dihedrals and corners. There is also a 10 m speed wall for competitive climbers.
Anyone can drop in with a day pass. There are no auto-belays: top-rope belay tests are free and lead belay tests are available by reservation or on a drop-in basis, and the Intro to Climbing and Intro to Bouldering classes cover the basics. Gear is for hire and the pro shop sells shoes and kit. Class 5 runs youth camps, clubs and a competition team, kids' birthday parties, clinics and monthly affinity meetups, and it hosts Touchstone's big competitions: Woman Up and Battle of LA in 2026. Parking is in a large lot shared with other businesses, entered from Del Amo Boulevard, Hawthorne Boulevard or Mariner Avenue.

“There is some amazing route setting. The gym is extremely clean and very welcoming. Great bouldering, top rope, and lead sections are available.”
“I've been frustrated that the gym does not offer lead tests during normal hours. … Otherwise, it's a nice facility with unique bouldering walls.”
