Berkeley, California, United States
Team Touchstone Training Center opened in 2019 on Potter Street in Berkeley, across the road from Berkeley Ironworks. It is home to Team Touchstone, Touchstone Climbing's East Bay youth climbing team, and is open to other Touchstone members when the team isn't using it. There are no day passes: members check in at Ironworks first.
The centre fits 3,700 sq ft of bouldering into seven comp-style walls up to 15 feet high, including about 100 feet of World Cup-style terrain, and it has hosted USA Climbing regional youth bouldering championships. Five training boards make it a place to train rather than to try climbing for the first time:
Member hours change with the team's training schedule, so check the public calendar before going: the centre is closed to members during practices, competitions and camps. The building is wheelchair accessible, with a private car park beside Ironworks, street parking and bike racks, and Ashby BART is about 1.4 miles away.
