Boulderbar Wienerberg opened in 2017 in an industrial zone on Vienna's southern edge, in the 10th district. Playful wall shapes give the setters plenty to work with, and some problems run along the glass wall that looks into the bar. The hall has about 1,100 m² of floor space and 1,100 m² of climbing on walls up to 4.5 m, over 90% of the problems are set in a single hold colour, and wifi is free. With five hours' free parking, it's popular with climbers from outside the city.
There's a 10×10 Kilter Board home wall and a MoonBoard, and a roomy training area with hangboards, a pegboard, a dip station, a campus board with edges and slopers, a barbell, rings, a pinch block and free weights. A children's area has walls and problems made for kids, and the hall runs supervised children's courses as well as courses for beginners and adults and private lessons.
The bar serves iced tea and lemonade, pizzas, toasties, stew, snacks and desserts, and in summer there's a sun terrace. The shop sells La Sportiva shoes, chalk, clothing and accessories, and shoes and chalk can be hired. Under-14s must climb with an adult, and 14 to 17-year-olds can come on their own with a parent's signed consent form. Tickets and passes are shared with the other Vienna halls and St. Pölten.
