Das Flash opened in August 2025 in a former factory warehouse in Brigittenau, Vienna's 20th district, renovated to keep as much of the old building as possible. Run by a small local collective of climbers, it puts a bouldering hall of over 1,000 m², a café and an events space under one roof. The walls are up to 4.5 m high, with more than 130 problems from slabs to steep overhangs, and one of the six sectors is reset every week.
For training there's the largest Kilter Board in Vienna, two Moon Boards set at 25° and 40°, what the hall says is Europe's first Woods Board and a big spray wall, plus a campus board, fingerboards, free weights and a roomy warm-up area. The main hall and the boards are on the step-free ground floor; the training rooms and slab wall upstairs aren't. Showers, changing rooms and lockers are free, and a small shop sells chalk, brushes and tape.
The vegan and vegetarian café is open to everyone without a ticket, with a green courtyard, table tennis, darts and table football, and it hosts concerts, film nights, DJs and competitions. Dogs are welcome in the café but not in the hall. Under-6s climb free in their own area with a slide, a tunnel and a small wall, children aged 6 to 13 must be supervised by an adult, and 14 to 17-year-olds can come alone with a parent's consent form. Courses cover beginners, women and queer climbers (FLINTA*), coached training, new-school technique and young people aged 10 to 18, and private lessons are available. The U6 stations Jägerstraße and Dresdner Straße are under ten minutes' walk away.

“pretty new gym, very demanding yet creative boulder problems. maybe the toughest in vienna. levels are covering a wide range. staff is really nice and helpful.”
“The gym itself has very nice wood work, is spacious and has lots of kilter/spraywall space. The warm up/training area is nice, but the large space could be used more efficiently.”
“Really nice gym with well set boulders, multiple boards, good music and friendly staff. The gym also includes a very cozy and sunlit bistro area with suprisingly cheap drinks, coffee and food.”
