Boulder Monkeys opened at the end of 2024 in Landstraße, Vienna's third district. The hall has over 1,500 m² of floor space, with boulders on walls of many shapes and angles for beginners and experienced climbers alike, and new problems are set every week. One feature is the Monkey Wheel, a big round wall that gets its own sets. Problems are graded on the hall's own scale of 1 to 9, shown on the top hold, and start from holds marked with a white dot.
The training area has a TensionBoard with an adjustable angle, a large campus board, hangboards, pull-up bars, dumbbells and barbells, a cable machine and a squat rack. A quiet room of over 50 m² is set aside for yoga and meditation. The organic bistro serves drinks and small dishes such as stews, pizza and toasties, and remote workers get fast internet, plenty of sockets and a separate room for video calls.
Children aged three and over can climb in the Kinderhöhle, the kids' cave, under constant adult supervision. Under-14s must always come with an adult, and adults who only supervise pay a reduced fee but may not climb. Young people aged 14 to 17 can climb on their own with a parent's signed consent form. The hall runs courses for different ages and levels, a summer camp, an outdoor bouldering course on real rock and challenges such as The Tick List, which ends in a final for the best eight women and eight men. You can register at the desk or online before your first visit.
