Charleroi
Maniak Charleroi, on the Chaussée de Bruxelles in Dampremy next to Decathlon, opened in December 2019 and is given over entirely to bouldering, with more than 110 problems on 120 metres of wall and two new problems at each level every week. There's a Kilter Board, a spray wall and a training area with a campus board, a kids' zone with 45 problems and a climbing gorilla, a sauna and a bar with a terrace. It's a minute's walk from the Piges metro stop, and it hosts Maniak's yearly competition, Coal Me Beast. On a first visit you choose a supervised initiation, a briefing or an e-learning course.
Espace Grimpe, on the Chaussée de Charleroi in Montignies-sur-Sambre, has been running for about 30 years. It has more than 1,200 m² of walls up to 15 metres, with 38 ropes for top-rope and lead, a large overhang, a bouldering wall and a cafeteria looking out over the walls. It runs courses from the age of five and camps from eight, is closed on Thursdays and for about a month from mid-July, and doesn't publish its prices online.
At Loverval, south of the city, the Centre Adeps de Loverval has two halls with 16-metre overhanging walls, opened in June 2022 as the training base for the French-speaking federation's competition climbers. They aren't open to the public.
Mons
Face Nord, on the Chemin du Chêne aux Haies, has been Mons's climbing centre since 1996. It has about 750 m² of rope walls up to 15 metres with around 100 routes and auto-belays, two speed lanes, 250 m² of dry-tooling walls for climbing with ice axes, a bouldering room opened in March 2026 and a 400 m² Clip 'n Climb, opened in July 2025, for children from four. You need annual climbing insurance, either Face Nord's own (€18, or €12 under 24) or the Club Alpin Belge's indoor membership, and lead climbers bring their own rope. Face Nord hosted a round of the Belgian Boulder Cup on 1 March 2026.
Dock 79 Bouldering, west of Mons in Tertre, Saint-Ghislain, opened in November 2022 in a leisure park that also has a cable wakeboard park and a treetop course. It has 800 m² of bouldering on walls up to 4.5 metres, allows only liquid chalk, and gives Face Nord's three-month and annual subscribers 10% off.
Nivelles
Maniak Nivelles, about 25 km north of Charleroi, was the first Maniak hall, opened in 2018. It has 1,500 m² of walls behind a large glass front, with more than 120 boulders and more than 100 routes on over 35 ropes up to 15 metres, auto-belays including one for leading, a Tension Board, a MoonBoard and a kids' zone.

In October 2026 a day ticket cost €15 at Maniak and Face Nord and €14 at Dock 79, or €12.50 there on weekdays until 16:00. Ten-visit cards cost €125 to €135. Climbing outdoors
The nearest crag is the Rocher de Landelies, on the Sambre less than 10 km south-west of Charleroi: limestone in a quarry that's still worked, with about 70 sport routes, mostly slabs. The Club Alpin Belge has an agreement with the owner, so members of the CAB, the KBF and other UIAA clubs may climb there with their card and liability insurance, and membership is often checked. Blasting takes place on weekdays from 9:00 to 16:00, with a siren first. See our guide to climbing outdoors in Belgium.
