Espace Grimpe

Espace Grimpe is an independent climbing hall on the Chaussée de Charleroi in Montignies-sur-Sambre, Charleroi, which has been running for around 30 years. It is mainly a roped hall, with more than 1,200 m² of walls up to 15 metres high and a large overhang, plus a bouldering wall.

Climbing and facilities

• Roped routes up to 15 metres on 38 ropes, climbed on top rope or lead
• A bouldering wall
• Changing rooms, showers and toilets
• Hire of all the gear you need, and a shop
• A cafeteria with more than 50 seats looking out over the walls

Courses and groups

The hall runs climbing courses from age 5, course cycles in term time and week-long climbing camps for children from 8 in the school holidays, and hosts birthday parties and group outings on request. It is closed on Thursdays, and in summer it shuts for about a month, from mid-July to mid-August.
