Perth, Western Australia, Australia
Urban Jungle is a family-owned climbing centre on Solomon Road in Jandakot, south of Perth, and bills itself as the only gym in Western Australia offering all three Olympic disciplines: lead, bouldering and speed. Its roped walls, which it calls the tallest indoors in Perth, carry top-rope, lead and auto-belay lines over vertical faces, overhangs, slabs and crack-style features, graded on the Ewbank scale. The speed wall copies the first 10 m of the official Olympic route, with a timer, and the bouldering area has V-graded problems up to about 4–5 m above thick crash pads.
There's also a fitted gym, an E-Wall training board, a pro shop and coffee at the front counter.
Groups of fewer than 12 don't need to book, and climbing shoes are compulsory. Bouldering is for ages 12 and up except in classes, and belayers must be at least 12.
