Perth, Western Australia, Australia
The Boulder Hub opened in Wangara, in Perth's northern suburbs, in November 2013 as the city's first gym built purely for bouldering and training. It is owner-run by two long-time climbers and coaches who both competed at a Bouldering World Cup, and its setters have set for national events, the WA state titles and the Hub's own Catalyst competitions.
The climbing area is air-conditioned. Every first-timer gets an induction on safety and etiquette, and newcomers can buy a three-visit starter pack that includes shoe hire.
A 70–80 m² studio holds dumbbells, kettlebells, barbells, a squat rack and bench, rings, monkey bars, stall bars, exercise bikes and rowing and ski machines. There are four unisex bathrooms with two showers, lockers, a pro shop, snacks and coffee, a free pool table and free Wi-Fi. After-school youth squads start at age five, and the gym also offers private instruction for all levels, kids' parties and corporate team-building sessions.

“…Ive enjoyed the climbing but the staff are the true best part of this gym. They are constantly friendly, helping as much as they can, and they work tirelessly to reset routes every week.”
“Favourite gym in Perth, friendly vibes with some of the best route setting around. All it needs is a moonboard. I definitely recommend going.”
“Amazing people, feel welcomed from the moment you walk in regardless of level.”
