Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia
Rockit Climbing And Bouldering Gym is an independent climbing centre at 1/37 Premier Circuit in Warana, on the Sunshine Coast, and has been running since at least 2014. It bills itself as having the widest variety of climbing on the coast: a top-rope hall with auto-belays, nine permanent lead walls with lead traverses, and a separate bouldering gym whose walls, among them the Rift, the Valley, the Crater, the Grotto and a slab, are reset in rotation.
For training there are two MoonBoards, set at 25 and 40 degrees, a spray wall and a gym area with pull-up bars and suspension straps. The gym's shop claims to be the Sunshine Coast's largest climbing gear store, stocking shoes, ropes, harnesses, hardware and crash pads.
Kids' classes run in term time for Joeys (5 to 8), Wallabies (9 to 12) and Roos (13 to 16), with a Saturday Weekend Academy and an invitation-only athletes squad that trains for competitions. Rockit also runs lead courses, private coaching, school-holiday morning programs, breath work and Pilates sessions, a supervised Lead Night on the first Tuesday of each month and RockFest, a lights-out night-climbing competition.
