Mountain Strong is an independent bouldering and strength gym in a warehouse on Townsville Street in Fyshwick, Canberra's light-industrial precinct east of the city centre, with its own car park. It marked its fifth birthday with a festival in 2026.
The climbing is spread over six sections of wall, from technical slabs to steep overhangs and a roof, with more than 100 boulder problems numbered by difficulty. One section is stripped and reset every week. The bouldering walls are open during staffed hours, while members and visit-pass holders can use the training areas around the clock with an RFID door tag.
A term-time youth programme groups children by age, from under-8s to invitation-only squads with links to Sport Climbing ACT and NSW competitions, and coaches run day-long school holiday programmes. Adults can join strength and technique classes, yoga and one-to-one coaching. The gym also hosts social nights, a winter bouldering ladder and an end-of-term schools bouldering championship.
