BlocHaus Mitchell is the second of BlocHaus's two Canberra gyms. It opened in February 2024 in a warehouse unit on Essington Street, Mitchell, with plenty of untimed parking on site, and it is a 12+ gym with boulders designed for adults: families with younger children use the FamilyHaus at BlocHaus Fyshwick instead.
The gym has about 500 m² of Blocz climbing surface, with problems graded in coloured circuits from blue (easiest) to white (hardest). The setters reset three sectors a week across the two Canberra gyms. Beside the walls is an 80 m² parkour area, reset monthly, and the training area has a 12×12 adjustable Kilter Board, a 40° spray wall and campus and peg boards; the parkour and fitness areas are for over-16s.
There are showers and change rooms, a 7 m padded slackline, table tennis, coffee from Redbrick Coffee Roasters and a shop selling shoes, chalk and clothing. Dogs on a lead are welcome, liquid chalk is free, and a day pass also covers BlocHaus Fyshwick on the same day.

“Awesome bouldering gym with a great variety of climbing routes for all skill levels.”
“Lovely gym, appreciate the cleanliness, aircon, and creative routesetting. … the opening hours here feel quite restrictive, especially with how busy the gym can get in the evenings.”
“I started at blue like most people and quickly grew to red and then slowly to purple and have just done a black.”
