Arcadia, California, United States
Hangar 18 Arcadia is a compact climbing gym on North Santa Anita Avenue in Arcadia, in the San Gabriel Valley east of Pasadena. It opened in 2018 as the tenth branch of Hangar 18, a Southern California chain that now runs eleven gyms, and one membership covers all of them.
More than 7,000 sq ft of climbing terrain is split between three bouldering areas, including a cave and a 45-degree wall, over a recently renovated seamless padding system, plus more than ten auto-belay lines for climbing taller walls without a partner. The setters work to a weekly rota, with separate set days for the bouldering and the auto-belay walls. A small weight room with racks, free weights and benches sits alongside, and the front desk sells gear, merchandise and cold drinks.
Every first-time visitor signs the online waiver and orientation confirmation, then books an Intro to Auto Belay or Intro to Bouldering class, which start on the hour. Each costs $35 for adults ($30 for 13 and under) and includes a day pass and rental shoes and harness. Bouldering is for ages 6 and up, and climbers aged 6 to 13 need an adult to spot them. After that, a day pass is $22, and memberships start at $54 a month with no initiation fee.
