About

SiO Athletica Blindern

SiO Athletica Blindern is a student sports centre in the middle of the University of Oslo's Blindern campus, run by the student welfare organisation SiO. Alongside a large gym, group exercise studios and a sports hall, it has a bouldering room and a climbing wall. You don't have to be a student: anyone can buy a membership, a single ticket or a 10-visit card, though students pay much less.

Climbing

  • Bouldering: a bouldering room that is included in membership and can be used whenever it's free.
  • Rope: a climbing wall in the multi-use sports hall, which can be used when part 1 of the hall isn't in use. You need a Brattkort, the Norwegian belay certificate, and your own equipment; climbing shoes can be hired at reception for NOK 25.

Visiting

The bouldering room and sports hall open at 08:00 on weekdays and for all of Saturday's opening hours, and the centre is closed on Sundays. There are changing rooms with showers, lockers in the corridor, a sauna (open to women and men on alternate days) and a staffed reception.
