Oslo, Norway
Oslo Klatresenter is one of Norway's largest climbing centres, at Skullerud in the south-east of Oslo, about 300 m from Mortensrud metro station on line 3. It is run by Oslo Klatresenter AS; members of Oslo Klatreklubb and Kolsås Klatreklubb pay lower prices for visit cards and memberships.
You can drop in to boulder or rope climb without booking. First-timers are advised to start with bouldering, which needs only shoes, and these can be hired. To belay you need a Brattkort, the Norwegian belay certificate: the centre runs a three-hour top-rope beginner course (NOK 890, including entry and gear) and lead courses, and climbers who already have the skills can book a top-rope or lead Brattkort test.
There are changing rooms with showers and lockers (bring a padlock or buy one at reception), a shop selling clothing, shoes, hardware and guidebooks, a meeting room for 14, and Tid Bakeri, a café with its own sourdough bakery.
As we last found them. Prices change, so check the wall's website before you go.

“…this gym is insanely large as compared to my country’s gym. … Also, do take note on the parking. Try to go via public transport than to drive there and park.”
“Went for bouldering with the family. Enjoyable routes, but limited options. The kids enjoyed the special children’s area a lot!”
“Great facilities, friendly and English speaking staff, even better cafe where they’re baking their own sourdough bread … Short hop (15-20mins) from Oslo S on the metro.”
