The Ponderosa boulder is a sculpted, rock-style block of tall pillars and cracks standing on a dark safety surface beside a path in the Ponderosa park off Oxford Street, Sheffield. Google lists it as "Outdoor Climbing Wall".
It is one of the artificial climbing boulders in Sheffield's parks documented by the community Sheffield Boulders wiki. They are free for anyone to use, with no booking, staff or opening times beyond the park's own, and are meant for fun and training rather than graded problems: the wiki deliberately gives no grades.
As we last found them. Prices change, so check the wall's website before you go.
“Convenient location but the top bit has lost chunks and the metal framing underneath is exposed. There's no spot at the top to sit comfortably either.”
