Outdoor competition wall with speed, lead and bouldering walls in İzmir Büyükşehir's Macera Park in Bornova, opened in 2018 and host of the 2019 national combined championship. The park has been reported closed since 2025, so check before you go.

About

Reported closed

In May 2026 an opposition councillor said that İzmir Büyükşehir Belediyesi had kept Macera Park closed for more than a year, and that it hadn't opened for the 19 May youth and sports holiday in 2025 or 2026. No reopening has been announced, so check before you go.

About the wall

Macera Park İzmir is a 30-dönüm adventure park on a rocky hillside in the Atatürk neighbourhood of Bornova, opened by İzmir Büyükşehir Belediyesi in October 2018. Alongside a zipline, a high ropes course and an area of natural rock for climbing, it has an outdoor climbing complex built to international standards, with speed, lead and bouldering walls. Since 2023 the park has also housed a youth centre run by the municipality's Genç İzmir programme.

Competitions and courses

  • The Turkish combined championship (lead, bouldering and speed) in May 2019, with 59 climbers from 18 provinces
  • The federation's 30 Ağustos Zafer Kupası lead competition for young climbers in August 2020
  • Turkish Mountaineering Federation basic, advanced, belayer, judges' and coaching courses from 2019 to 2022

No opening hours or prices for the wall have been published. The nearest bus stop is Manzara, on ESHOT route 585.
