Climbinn is an independent bouldering gym in Kazımdirik, Bornova, which describes itself as the biggest climbing gym in İzmir. It opened in December 2019 in a 310 m² unit in the Narpark residential complex, a short walk from Bornova metro station. Blue-and-white walls, from vertical faces to overhangs studded with big volumes, line a long matted corridor, with a MoonBoard at the far end.
Newcomers can book a one-hour, one-to-one taster session or a four-week beginner course with one lesson a week, either one to one at times that suit them or in a small adult group at weekends. The course covers falling safely, gripping holds, footwork, resting and moving on overhangs, and climbing shoes and chalk are provided. Children's lessons are taught one to one. The coaching team includes high-altitude mountaineers and a former national-team competition climber. Booking is essential.
The gym runs on memberships, with day passes, 10-visit passes and one- or three-month memberships, and lower prices for students under 25. There's no time limit once you're in. Climbing shoes are compulsory and can be hired, as can chalk bags. MultiSport cards are accepted, and the gym has hosted local bouldering competitions, including its Boulder Rally and summer leagues. You can also drop off retired climbing ropes here to be upcycled.
