Laneway Boulders is a bouldering gym at 41 Henry Street in Stepney, a few minutes east of the Adelaide CBD. Walltopia built its walls in 2025, fitting 324 m² of bouldering surface into a 220 m² building laid out for up to 125 climbers, over carpet-topped matting.
Local coffee is served at the front desk, and there are lockers, showers, room to sit and catch up on emails, a car park and a pro shop. Shoe and liquid chalk hire are available, and well-behaved dogs are welcome on a lead, though not on your first visit.
Climbers must be at least 8 years old and 120 cm tall. Everyone gets a safety briefing on their first visit, and the Intro Offer adds 14 days of unlimited climbing. The gym runs Starting Blocs beginner classes on Tuesdays, a Women on the Wall community session on Thursday evenings, a youth club on weekends in school term, school holiday classes and private coaching, and hosts socials and in-house competitions such as the Laneway 100.

“…through all of the grades I could climb there was something interesting about the route setting not just standard ladder like climbing in the VB-V2 grade ranges like other gyms I’ve tried.”
“Really clean gym, friendly staff, good setting and good gym equipment. Only gripe would be that all the pull up bars in the gym are at the same height on the frame.”
“An excellent addition to the bouldering scene in Adelaide!! With lovely staff, an excellent wholesome vibe and a lovely Tension Board 2 it’s a must see if you’re keen on climbing.”
