Beyond Bouldering Thebarton is the newest of Beyond Bouldering's three Adelaide gyms, after Keswick and Kent Town. It opened in December 2024 at 27 Walsh Street, in a purpose-built warehouse west of the city centre with parking, and has 540 m² of Walltopia climbing walls, including a huge overhanging wall whose floor rises with it towards the upper level.
Free Foundations classes for beginners and Technique classes for members run on Monday evenings, with Strength, Stretch and Shred fitness classes during the week, the Beyond Youth Club on Saturday mornings in term, and private coaching and personal training. Thebarton hosts Beyond's bigger events, such as the BOLDER competition, the final of The Circuit boulder ladder, a Halloween night and the 145K for T1D community day.
No booking is needed. Climbers must be at least 8 years old and 120 cm tall, and first-timers complete a waiver, safety questionnaire and demo climb before they start. Shoe hire costs $7 and liquid chalk $5, dogs are welcome under the gym's dog policy, and every membership covers all three Beyond gyms.
