Kraft Sportssenter is the sports centre of Samskipnaden, the student welfare organisation in Tromsø, at Framstredet 79. Kraft started in 2001 and reopened in 2017 in an 8,100 m² building with two multi-purpose halls, strength and cardio rooms, a yoga and dance hall, a cycling room and group-training rooms, as well as a climbing wall. Students and other members train here, and anyone can buy a drop-in ticket.
Everyone who belays must hold a Brattkort, a top-rope card (topptaukort) or an equivalent foreign certificate. Kraft runs climbing courses through the year, and participants may belay for two weeks after a course without a card, with extra safety measures. You also need accident insurance that covers indoor climbing.
Drop-in tickets are bought online for the same day. The centre is staffed from 08:00 to 22:00 on weekdays and from 10:00 to 20:00 at weekends, and members can come in from 06:00.
As we last found them. Prices change, so check the wall's website before you go.
