Trondheim, Trøndelag, Norway
Grip Sluppen, at Sluppenvegen 11 in Trondheim, is one of Grip Klatring's two centres in the city. It opened in 2020 and has a large bouldering area, a rope hall up to 21 m high with plenty of auto-belays, and a children's section with auto-belays and a climbing tower. In April 2026 it hosted a round of the Norwegian bouldering cup (Norgescup).
You can simply buy a day pass and climb: staff show you how to use the auto-belays, which need no experience or certificate, and shoes and harnesses can be hired. To belay on a rope you need a Brattkort, the Norwegian belay certificate. Grip runs two-day Brattkort courses, and you can climb on a rope with a partner who holds one. Everyone must read and sign the safety rules before their first visit, and children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult.
Grip also runs an introductory course, trad and companion-rescue courses, climbing groups for children and adults, and birthday parties. Memberships and clip cards are valid at both Grip centres. The Sluppen bus stop is 500 m away, and there is parking.

“…really great setters ! There's a lot of interesting technical boulders, with a wide range of inclines ! … there's chalk everywhere, so the shoes get slippery really fast on the foot holds.”
