Westside Recreation Centre is a large recreation centre in south-west Calgary, with an aquatic park, a 30,000 sq ft fitness centre, ice arenas and gymnasiums. Its 24 ft climbing wall opens for drop-in climbing at set times every day, and staff and volunteers belay climbers during open climbing time, so you don't need to bring a partner.
Climbing birthday parties for ages 6 to 12 include an hour on the wall with certified instructors and an hour in a party room, and can be combined with swimming, skating or gym games.
