Vestveggen is Bergen Klatreklubb's flagship centre inside Åsane Arena, a large multi-sport complex in Åsane, north of Bergen city centre. It opened in March 2021, and the club bills it as the largest climbing centre in the Nordic countries: 3,641 m² of climbing surface and around 170 bolted lines, making more than 300 routes from beginner to elite level.
You don't have to join the club to drop in. You need a Brattkort, the Norwegian belay certificate, to belay, and at least a top-rope card (Topptaukort) to use the auto-belays; the club runs beginner courses and Brattkort tests here. Parts of the centre are kept for children's and youth groups from 16:00 to 20:00 on weekdays during term. The two car parks at Åsane Arena are free for up to three hours if you register your car.

“…the climbing center has everything - boulder, toprope, autobelays and lead. Being a foreigner on vacation the process was fairly straightforward and we were ready to go quickly.”
“Changing rooms are good, tho a little small, but you have lockers and showers all in one space so it's understandable.”
“…multiple autobelays, top ropes, bouldering, speed wall, kids area, shop and coffee shop. The only downside with the place is the lighting, which is quite bright and annoying in some areas.”
