Chico, California, United States
Terrain Park Climbing Center has been part of Chico's climbing scene since 2018. It began as a bouldering gym on W 5th Street and has grown into the Terrain Park Climbing and Adventure Center, adding roped climbing and a play area for children.
The bouldering walls, built by Vertical Solutions, stand 16 ft high and hold around 150 problems from V0 to V10. A section is reset every other week, most recently a rebuilt slab. For training there's a Kilter Board, a campus board and hangboards.
The Adventure Center adds 12 auto-belay lanes, a three-storey play structure, a toddler area, a games room, party rooms and an upstairs viewing area with wifi, which makes the gym popular for birthdays and family visits.
Everyone entering the building, parents included, needs a waiver on file, and climbers watch an orientation video before their first session.

“I have so many good things to say about this place. Friendly, affordable, fun, accommodating. Quickly becoming one of our favorite spots in town.”
“This place is ALOT of fun! The staff were incredible! Me and the kids had an absolute blast and we will definitely be coming back again!”
“Book a birthday party in advance and was very excited to have it here. We were never informed that they only had a 10 minute window to set up nor was it shown in policies.”
