Steinblock Dornbirn is a 1,200 m² bouldering hall in a former high-bay warehouse of the Hämmerle textile works on the Fischbach site, and it opened on 1 August 2020. It is the biggest of the Steinblock halls, alongside Rankweil and Imst, and its walls are built from local glued-laminated timber in unusual shapes. Problems are set for everyone from first-timers to strong climbers, and the training area has a Kilter Board and a MoonBoard. Children have their own adventure area, and there's a lounge, a cafe area and a sun terrace for a break between sessions.
The hall is staffed from 14:00 on weekdays and from 10:00 at weekends, until 22:30 every day. With an online ticket, an 11-visit card, a time card or the apptive app you can also get in by automated entry from 06:00, although cleaning and route setting can limit what's open outside the staffed hours. Everyone climbing needs a valid ticket and climbing shoes, which can be hired along with chalk bags, and children under 12 must climb with an adult. 11-visit cards and 3-month, half-year and annual cards are valid at every Steinblock hall. Courses run for adults, from beginners to technique sessions, and for children from three upwards in age groups, and the hall also takes school classes, groups with or without a trainer and children's birthday parties.
As we last found them. Prices change, so check the wall's website before you go.
