A boulder wall in a city sports hall

The Sport & Fun Halle Leopoldstadt is one of the City of Vienna's four Sport & Fun halls, multi-sport halls run by the city's sports department (MA 51) for anyone to drop into. This one, on Venediger Au near Praterstern, has a bouldering wall alongside courts for badminton, beach volleyball, street basketball, artificial-turf football, padbol, inline hockey and table tennis. The wall is included in the standard entry ticket, which makes it a cheap way to try bouldering or to climb between other sports. Favoriten is the only other Sport & Fun hall with a boulder wall.

Visiting

Individuals don't need to book: just turn up during the daytime opening hours, every day of the week, and pay at the desk (cards accepted). In the evenings the courts are let to groups and clubs. Sports equipment can be borrowed free against photo ID. Children from 12 can come on their own; younger children need a responsible adult with them. Indoor shoes that don't leave marks are required in the hall, and there are changing rooms, showers and drinks machines. The hall also hosts children's birthday parties and school classes.
