Forest, Brussels-Capital Region, Belgium
Maniak Padoue is a climbing centre in the Église Saint-Antoine de Padoue, a church built in 1907 in Forest, which Maniak converted into a climbing hall in June 2023. The front of the church is still used for worship, so climbers go in at the back, on the Rue des Moines. Routes rise to 19 metres under the vaulted nave, the tallest in the Maniak network, and the original stained-glass window still lights the end of the hall.
First-timers choose a supervised initiation, a short briefing or an e-learning course when they book. Leading on your own takes Maniak's lead certification, taught in four to six small-group sessions, and the lead area at Padoue opens on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday before 16:00, plus a Friday evening slot. The Maniak Académie runs weekly classes and holiday courses for 6 to 16-year-olds, and children from 3 can climb with a parent.
There's a bar with light meals under the vaults, a stretching area, showers and changing rooms, a shop for chalk, gear hire and secure indoor bike parking. Brussels-Midi station is a 10-minute walk away.

“It’s built inside a former church, which gives the whole place a really unique vibe. … The gym is mostly top rope (probably around 80%), with plenty of fun and interesting routes for different levels.”
“What could be improved is the ropes, they feel really old and worn out. It's also a pity you can't do lead climbing during the weekend.”
“Super nice gym! Many interesting routes and of course stunning location. They also have a speed wall.”
