Le Camp de Base is a bouldering hall on the Chaussée de Boondael in Ixelles, built in a former garage and open since 2022. It's one of three halls the same team runs in Ixelles, about a kilometre apart: Le Camp d'Approche is for children and beginners, and Le Camp Avancé is for training. The bright, open hall has walls up to 5 metres high, with problems graded by colour for every level, from first-timers to competition climbers.
Beside the walls are a warm-up and strength area with pull-up bars and hangboards, a spray wall and a Güllich board, and a yoga room that climbers can use for stretching when no class is on. There's a sauna for up to six people and a bar with local drinks and snacks, with a pizza night on Wednesdays. Dogs are welcome, and there are lockers.
The team runs courses for young people aged 6 to 18 and for adults, private lessons and yoga classes, and a physiotherapist who specialises in climbing injuries works on site. The hall also hosts competitions, including the Master of Fire, back on 27 and 28 November 2026, and a stage of the European Boulder Cup in 2025.

“Very nice and relatively large climbing venue. Well marked and colour coded (green, orange, blue, etc.); there is plenty of choice. … The staff is friendly and helpful.”
“Really cool bouldering spot. Lots of routes and the facility has a café, a small gym rack & fingerboards to warm up and a functional room to stretch or cool down”
“Good lay out, nicely graded climbs but far too busy.”
