Uttendorf, Salzburg, Austria
This climbing wall fills one side of the small gym at the Mittelschule in Uttendorf. It has about 120 m² of lead climbing up to 7 metres high, with around 25 routes from the 3rd to the 9th grade, plus about 30 m² of bouldering, and it has top ropes in place. Showers, changing rooms and toilets are in the school.
The wall is used by Tauernkraxxla, the climbing group of the Oberpinzgau section of the Austrian Alpenverein. Its children's and youth groups, led by trained instructors, train here on Mondays and Fridays through the school year, from age 6 and in groups of up to ten; new children can next join in autumn 2027. The group also runs climbing-technique courses and top-rope and lead belay courses for adults here and at the Kraxlerei hall in Zell am See, with equipment hire for participants.
Everyone who takes part must be a member of an alpine club such as the Alpenverein or the Naturfreunde. There's no drop-in climbing for visitors: for that, there's the Boulderhalle Gletschersonne elsewhere in Uttendorf.
