Boulderhalle Gletschersonne, which calls its website Boulderhalle Pinzgau, is a small bouldering hall in Uttendorf. On an indoor floor area of 140 m² it has about 200 m² of bouldering on walls up to 4.5 metres high, with overhangs of up to 7 metres and boulders up to 21 metres long, plus a MoonBoard and a 40 m² lead wall about 6 metres high. Problems range from easy to very hard, and new ones are set regularly; the latest set went up in September 2026.
The hall is open every day from 07:00 to 23:00, and there's no reception: push the door firmly to get in. Register before your first visit, with the form from the website or on site, then pay with an envelope in the hall, writing your name and the amount on it before putting it in the safe. Alpenverein members pay less, so bring your membership card. You don't need to take a course before bouldering here, but children under 12 must be with an adult. Climbing shoes can be hired if you phone ahead and are collected from the Dorfer restaurant in the same building. Groups and school classes can arrange to come in earlier. Courses are run by the Tauernkraxxla climbing school, from taster sessions for children, teenagers, adults and holiday guests to beginners' and improvers' courses, a course for over-60s and a physiotherapy-based course.

“Plenty of routes set across skill levels. The only issue is it was frigid inside… It’s an unmanned site so if you need rental shoes, make sure to go when the restaurant next door is open!”
