About

Bouldering in Jørpeland

Jørpeland flerbrukshall is Strand municipality's multi-use sports hall on Fjelltunvegen. Alongside two handball-sized hall floors, a martial arts room and a café, it has a bouldering room of about 200 square metres, with angled walls and volumes above a fully matted floor.

Strand Klatreklubb, the local climbing club, has fixed training times in the room for its members. The room can't be booked through the municipality's booking system: anyone else who wants to use it is asked to contact the club. The club publishes no timetable, prices or rules online, so get in touch before you visit.

Friday open hall

On Friday evenings from 18:00 to 20:00 the hall is open to children and young people for free, and bouldering is among the activities, alongside billiards, table tennis and games. The open hall is run by Staal IL with volunteer adults, follows the school calendar and is closed in the school holidays. The municipality says more than 200 children and young people came on Friday evenings last year.
