Melbourne, Victoria, Australia
The Holmesglen Bouldering Wall is a free outdoor bouldering wall in Chadstone, beside the Waverley Rail Trail where it meets Warrigal Road, directly across the road from Holmesglen station on the Glen Waverley line. Monash City Council and the Victorian Government's Community Crime Prevention Program paid for it jointly, and climbers have been using it since at least 2018.
It's a single wall of timber panels with a few angled sections and large triangular volumes, over a rubber safety surface. Problems are marked by hold colour rather than V-grades:
If one colour is too hard, the council's sign suggests combining two or more. There are only a limited number of set problems, but the wall is handy for working on particular moves or weaknesses.
Entry is free and there's nothing to book. A council sign says the wall is open during daylight hours only. Climbing shoes are recommended, bare feet aren't allowed and dogs must be kept on a lead. There's a bike pump and repair station by the trail, but the nearest public toilets are about a kilometre away along the Gardiners Creek Trail. Drivers can park on Power Avenue beside Holmesglen Reserve, a short walk away. Report damage or loose holds to Monash City Council on (03) 9518 3555, the number on the wall's sign.

“This is a cool bouldering wall that is free to go to. It is not to big but good to practice on.”
