Gecko Bloc is an independent indoor bouldering centre at 800 Boulevard Charest Est, in the Saint-Roch district of downtown Quebec City. It was founded by a team of four climbers, with backing from a crowdfunding campaign with 170 contributors and from the City of Quebec's Vision entrepreneuriale Québec 2030 programme, and it opened in 2026, holding an opening party on 1 October. A day's entry covers the bouldering walls, a training area and a lounge, and the centre is open every day from 09:00 to 22:00.
Bouldering is recommended from about 7 or 8 years old. Children aged 6 and under need one adult each, who supervises and doesn't climb, and have their own discounted discovery entry; children aged 7 to 13 need one adult for every two children, and that adult may climb. Only assistance animals are allowed. School, after-school and corporate groups are welcome by arrangement for sessions led by staff, and courses are due to be added to the timetable.
