Calgary, Alberta, Canada
Bolder Climbing Elevated is the second gym from Calgary's Bolder Climbing, opened in 2023 on 48th Street SE in the south-east of the city. Its 23,000 sq ft building holds 12,500 sq ft of climbing. Where Bolder's original Community gym on 1st Street SE is bouldering-only, Elevated has the height for roped climbing too: 40 ft walls for top-rope and lead, auto-belays for climbing without a partner and a 10 m speed wall, alongside bouldering and adjustable training walls.
There is a cross-training area, a café with family-style seating serving coffee and food, and a retail shop stocking brands such as Gramicci, Taion and Orumm. Bolder Health and Performance, a treatment clinic run with Eagle Sport Physio, is in the same building. Shoes, harnesses and belay devices can be hired, and climbing shoes are compulsory. To use the ropes you need to pass a belay check, climb with someone who has, or use the auto-belays. Everyone signs a waiver before climbing or working out, and a parent or guardian signs for under-18s.
Elevated hosts Alberta Climbing Association events, including the Canada Winter Games selection camp in October 2026 and youth boulder provincials in February 2027.

“We visited this climbing center with our kids… the staff gave us a warm welcome, and the registration process was quick and smooth.”
“This gym has the best setting in the city and I love the training area. My only complaint would be the music… And it’s so loud that I can hear it over my noise cancelling earbuds at full volume.”
“Beautiful and Clean Climbing option. Bathrooms are lovely and spotless. We came for kids class. The leaders kept them engaged and they had fun. Very reasonable class prices.”
