Beta Park at The Hub is the roped half of Beta Park, the Launceston bouldering gym in Invermay. It sits inside PCYC North's Northern Suburbs Community Recreation Hub on Invermay Road in Mowbray, a community sports centre with courts, a fitness gym, gymnastics and a café. PCYC owns the centre, while Beta Park runs the climbing wall, its bookings, supervision and programmes.
The wall is 11.5 metres high with more than 30 routes, from beginner-friendly climbs to harder lines, all climbed on top rope. Climbers belay one another, and children under 13 climb with a parent or guardian who belays them. Shoes, harnesses and chalk can be hired, and no booking is needed for a casual climb.
The wall opens on weekday afternoons and evenings and at weekends, with longer weekday hours in the school holidays. Beta Park sells a weekly membership for The Hub alone, an all-access membership that also covers its Invermay bouldering gym, and Hub 10-visit passes. Students get discounted entry on Friday Student Nights.
