Atelier Bloc is Shawinigan's first bouldering gym, opened in October 2025 on boulevard Royal by a local climber who had worked in routesetting and gym management on Vancouver Island. The independent gym is built around community: its 4,350 sq ft space is kept intimate on purpose, so climbers end up working out problems together, helped by a board for discussing grades.
About 2,400 sq ft of walls, up to 15 ft high above thick mats, hold more than 80 problems for every level, with a reset each week and setting that leans technical and outdoor-inspired. A Kilter Board, hangboards and edges cater for training, alongside a full training gym with weights and 12 ft of mirrors, and big windows let in plenty of natural light.

“…The higher-level boulders get somewhat challenging, even a bit tougher than what you’ll find in some other gyms… it’s still super welcoming and accessible for beginners…”
