Cornwall's climbing walls are spread across the west of the county. Tide Climbing Padstow, at St Issey, has bouldering, top ropes, lead lines and auto belays, and is the only one of them with ropes. Tide's second centre, in Helston, and BoulderRyn in Penryn, near Falmouth, are bouldering only. Outdoors, Cornwall's granite sea cliffs draw climbers from all over Britain.

Competitions, film nights, socials and workshops at walls in and around Cornwall, soonest first.

Tide Padstow opened in 2019 on Barnfields Business Park at St Issey, just off the B3274 a few minutes from Padstow and about seven miles from Wadebridge. It has around 600 m² of bouldering with about 140 problems reset weekly, 18 top-rope lines, 8 lead lines and auto belays on walls of about 7.5 metres, and a MoonBoard and weights area. No booking is needed: sign the online waiver, watch the induction video and climb. Shoe hire is free, and the café is known for its handmade pizza. The centre hosts the Cornish Open each spring and its free Birthday Bloxx comp each October, and has hosted rounds of the BMC Youth Climbing Series.
Tide Helston opened in September 2025 in the Gateway building on The Parade, in the middle of the town. It has around 300 m² of bouldering, including a cave room, reset weekly, and two Kilter Boards, one fixed at 40° and one adjustable from 0° to 40°, for experienced climbers aged 14 and over. The council car park beside it is free after 4pm. Day passes and memberships cover both Tide centres.
BoulderRyn is an independent bouldering centre on Kernick Business Park in Penryn, about five minutes from the University of Exeter's Penryn Campus and the only indoor wall serving Penryn and Falmouth. Every four to six weeks the whole centre is stripped and reset. It's for ages 8 and up, first-timers pay a one-off £3 registration, and Penryn station is 0.6 miles away. Femme Fatale Fridays offer free coaching and off-peak prices for women. Penryn's older wall, Granite Planet, closed in January 2024.
In October 2026 an adult day pass cost £15 at all three centres, with BoulderRyn charging £13 off-peak on weekdays. A peak monthly direct debit cost £42 at both Tide and BoulderRyn; Tide's off-peak month was £32 and BoulderRyn's £35. Tide's membership covers both of its centres.
Tide runs kids' clubs at both centres, from Tide Tots for ages 2 to 4 through Ripples and Waves to a teenage social club, and Padstow has a Kidgloo play area. BoulderRyn takes children from 8, with one adult on the mat for every two under-18s.
Cornwall's best-known crag is Bosigran, a granite sea cliff in West Penwith near Land's End, with about 125 routes on the Main Cliff from Doorpost (HS 4b) to Vulcan (E5 6b). Parking is at the National Trust car park off the B3306, and some pitches are closed for nesting birds in early summer. Next to it, Bosigran Ridge is a long pinnacled granite arête whose approach is only possible at lowish tides in calm seas. The open access rules here let landowners restrict access for up to 28 days a year, so check the BMC's access database before you go.
From east Cornwall, The Barn near Tavistock and Plymouth's walls are closer: see climbing in Plymouth.
