Zagreb's dedicated bouldering choices include the Hive on Slavonska avenija, Boulder Zona above Shopping Centre Prečko and Fothia Velesajam at Zagreb Fair. They share a city but differ in training boards, travel directions and ticket conditions. Start with the type of session you want, then check the correct venue: Fothia's separate Podsljeme programme is not interchangeable with its Velesajam gym.

First-time friend free with an accompanying climber

The Hive Zagreb operates at Slavonska avenija 16. Older references may still point to Heinzelova, so use the current listing when planning your journey. The venue combines bouldering with a MoonBoard, spray wall and functional fitness space. It uses Griptonite for climbs and progress, and Stokt for its spray wall.
The operator also advertises adult and children's coaching and yoga. These are organised activities rather than a guarantee that instruction comes with ordinary admission. Its published opening is 09:00–23:00 daily, with exceptions announced through its official channels. Parents should read the supervision and age rules before bringing children for independent climbing.
Boulder Zona occupies the third-floor rooftop level of Shopping Centre Prečko at Slavenskoga ul. 1 in western Zagreb. Its facilities include a competition wall, spray walls, MoonBoard, Kilter Board and campus board, together with warming-up, stretching and fitness areas.
The location's entrance instructions matter: when the shopping centre is closed, the operator directs climbers to the eastern entrance. It publishes free visitor parking and access by bus and tram. Weekday, Saturday, Sunday and public-holiday timetables are different, so check the day of your visit rather than relying on one closing time for the whole week.
Fothia Velesajam is on the gallery level of Pavilion 25 at Zagreb Fair. Its programme includes independent bouldering, introductory and advanced courses, individual coaching and children's training. A lesson or course needs the appropriate booking; it is not the same product as an entrance ticket.
Fothia Podsljeme is a separate hall at Gračanska cesta 191 by the Sljeme cable-car station. The operator advertises children's sessions there, while the Google listing was marked temporarily closed in October 2026. Confirm availability directly. Do not use Velesajam's prices and opening hours as evidence of drop-in access at Podsljeme.
The standard adult day tickets checked in October 2026 are €12 at the Hive, Boulder Zona and Fothia Velesajam. That matching headline does not mean the final cost or conditions are identical. Check concessions, equipment hire, the validity of a multi-entry package and whether a discounted ticket restricts your arrival time.
Fothia's published September 2026 list distinguishes full-time and regular access, with cheaper weekday periods before 16:00 and after 21:00. Standard adult monthly prices are €59 at the Hive, €60 at Boulder Zona and €59 at Fothia Velesajam. The Hive also lists a €45 restricted-time month and Fothia a €47 regular month. Read the entry periods carefully: their discounted windows differ, and automatic renewal should not be assumed from the word membership.
The Hive’s Fall for It league has October rounds, with scoring open through 2 November 2026. Its 25 October Bring a Friend Day gives a first-time friend free entry when accompanied by a climber. Fothia Velesajam has announced BimSport Boulder League for 30 October and birthday competitions on 28–29 November, with youth qualifying and finals on different days. Check eligibility, registration and the correct programme before attending.
Tell the gym whether you already climb and whether you need a beginner introduction, shoes or a coached group. For families, establish the child's age group and supervision requirements before arriving. For a board session, check the particular board you want rather than assuming every bouldering venue has the same equipment.

The same headline day price does not make three gyms identical. Compare Zagreb's bouldering venues by training boards, location, entrance instructions and the conditions attached to a ticket.
