Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, Canada
The City of Yellowknife owns and runs the climbing wall inside the Fieldhouse on Kam Lake Road, the city's indoor sports centre, which also has a turf field, an indoor track and a children's play area. The wall opened in 2018.
The main wall has top-rope lines and auto-belays, and there is a separate bouldering wall; you can also boulder on the red and orange sections of the main wall. To top-rope you first need to pass a belay test, and auto-belay users need an orientation. Lead climbing is only allowed under the direct supervision of a climbing instructor.
The city and the Yellowknife Climbing Club run an annual rock climbing competition at the wall (the second was in May 2024), with kids', youth, women's and open categories.
