UNSW Village Green Bouldering Wall is a free outdoor bouldering structure on the Village Green, the sports and recreation precinct in the middle of UNSW Sydney's Kensington campus. It opened with the redeveloped Village Green in October 2022, when Arc ran lessons on how to use it, and UNSW describes the precinct as a place for students, staff and the local community to play, exercise, socialise and relax.
Industrial by Nature designed and made the structure in Melbourne for its Bouldering range, working with UNSW Student Life, the Outdoor Sport Club and student climbers. It is a Legend+: two blue and green faceted blocks joined by an extended bridge, about 8 m long, nearly 4 m wide and 3 m high, with roughly 70 m² of climbing surface and around 650 holds. About 20 problems run from novice to advanced, up to 23 people can climb at once, and a campus wall at one end is there for building strength. It stands on blue rubber softfall beside the running track.
As we last found them. Prices change, so check the wall's website before you go.
- No booking or entry fee: it's an open-access campus facility
- Nothing to hire on site
